My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

Uncontrollable is the sequel to the book entitled Untraceable and the story starts where the first book left off. Grace is trying to come to terms with losing her Dad. Things have not been easy for her and her mother. She is trying her best to do well in school even though most of her classmates tend to keep their distance. Even her closest friend seems to be unable to look at her.

During her science class, Agent Sweeney at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, came to visit to announce that he would like to encourage students to help with research on the "Red Wolf Reintroduction Program." Because of Grace's interest in conservation, her interest is definitely piqued. But she has not been back in the forest since she lost her father and she knows her mother may not be too keen on the idea.

Grace manages to convince her mother and things seem to be going okay until the group of volunteers discover the bodies of dead red wolves. There are no visible signs of what may have killed the animals. But as days pass, Grace begins to feel there is a lot more to the wolves' deaths than meets the eye.

Uncontrollable is an exciting read. The character of Grace does not disappoint. She is as brave, and as determined as she was in Untraceable. She is not afraid of facing the fury of nature to save her friends. Her passion for wildlife and her knowledge of how to survive in the wilderness is clear and noteworthy.

The author did a great job in writing this book. Though I am soooo irritated with the character of Grace's bestie and his girlfriend -- I feel like wringing their necks -- the characters are all well-developed and lend substance to the story.

Uncontrollable is definitely a good and enjoyable read. And any book -- as well-written as this one -- that places importance on conservation of wildlife scores pretty well with me.
