Book Review: Teatime in Paris by Jill Colonna

Jill Colonna relocates to Paris and finds a love for all things French, and especially their pastries.  Starting with the forever asked question of “How the French eat pastry yet can stay slim”, Jill then leads us through her love of Parisian pastries.

As well as this, Jill explains her essential and luxury baking items as well as outlining each of the main ingredients.

I was inspired by Jill to purchase a Master Class 9-Hole Non-Stick Canele Mould/Baking Tin - 32.5 x 22 cm" target="_blank">caneles tin and make some.  My first attempt was pretty good I’m happy to say ( Recipe for Caneles can be found here) so much so I have bought a Madeline tin and may even attempt Macarons!

As well as recipes, Jill has some of her favorite walks in Paris listed, with where to go for some recommended sweet treats.

This is an ideal book for the enthusiastic cook who would like to try their hand at some French pastries.  Jill’s passion for her subject will soon be yours and you’ll be ordering some new bakeware in no time!
