Review:
Hurray for the weekend! Yeah, since its weekend, which means no work! And what’s great thing to do on a weekend? Ofcourse, reading books! And we’ll start with another book from Starlight Hills series! Since I’m done with the first book, All Of Me, I am really looking forward to its second book.
Just as usual, I didn’t read the summary so I am really excited to know who’s this story gonna be. And I was really surprise to find out that its Brooke’s! Going back to the first book, Brooke was Ivey’s bestfriend.
This story really makes me feel excited because Brooke’s character really stands out while I was reading the first book. She has that spunk and cool character that’s really hard not to notice. But what also intrigues me most is who’s going to be that lucky guy?! I thought the excitement just ended there, but to my surprise, my most awaited hottie from the Turlock brothers is finally here! Yeah bummer, but so what? I know you’re looking forward to it too aight?
Unlike the first book, this story piques my attention just by reading its first chapter. It wasn’t just because of Brooke but it’s because of the situation she was in. That was really maddening so what Brooke did just serves the j*rk right!
After quitting her job, she planned on owning a winery and the first thing she need was the old Mirassu vineyard. But Billy, the town’s popular baseball superstar bought the winery in cold cash. Who would have thought that it’s because of that land that Brooke’s life will start to change eh?
Their love story fortunately is kinda new to me which I honestly thought at first that it’s going to be cliché. Like a popular hot jock fall in love with this typical girl. But no it’s not! Their story actually started when they were in high school but it was 10 years after that their “love story” truly started, and I really like that because all weren’t made without a haste.
I love how their story blossomed though I was really irritated with their conflicts. Why is it hard for couples to tell what they feel for each other eh? Well, I guess it’s easier to act than say it? Well, I dunno ok!
I was also happy because finally, Brooke conquered her fears. Well, actually both of them knew and corrected all their setbacks. Billy on what he really loves to do, and Brooke on her fear to fall in love.
For the main characters, I really can’t hide how I adore Brooke’s, I love how extreme she is which leads to her being so headstrong. Her character was also not “all perfect” unlike most romance stories tends to do. Her character is a kind of character that we can all easily relate to especially her phobia with darkness and her being afraid to fall in love.
Billy on the other hand is a true picture of a gorgeous heat-inducing baseball superstar. So tell me, who wouldn’t fall for that? Just like Brooke, I’m not that fan of jocks too, but who could resist a hottie like Billy? Hehe. I don’t really have any complaints with his character, because just like Brooke’s he also has his own setbacks but I adore his love to his family and by being a true gentleman. So what else could you wish for?
I also like that just the first and fourth book, this story wasn’t compose of so many characters that’s why all of them can easily be tracked.
But unfortunately, this book is also composed of those “not so friendly” terms, but luckily, it’s minimal compared to its first book, so you’ll still enjoy this story. That’s also one of the reasons behind my missing 1 star. What’s the other reason? Well, I still think that the fourth book is the BEST! But oh, don’t ever think that this book isn’t worth to read ok? The 4 star rating below is the evidence
And I save the best for last. I really am so in love with the ending. It was so romantic and it almost made me cry.
This story can also be read standalone, but I really recommend you’ll read the first book first
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
