I have interviewed Arti Honrao in one of my earlier posts, and have also read and reviewed her book My Life Story. Arti has a unique style of writing, something very near to original and natural. Her writing takes you along for a deep dive inside an ocean but keeping your entity intact. In this book Resemblance: The Journey of a Doppelganger, Arti has tried to depict the difference of good performance done on a stage in front of a large amount of audience and get applauded for it and the same when required to be done in real life in front of real life acquaintances and sometimes even in front of totally unknown people.
But then a natural connect is built when a totally unknown person comes into the life of a family where the man has lost his wife, leaving him and his young daughter alone and shocked. The new entrant is totally resembling the demised wife now is required to play her role in their life to keep their young daughter untouched by the shock of loss of her mother. That is where Sneha has to enter into the life of Ajay to act as his wife Smriti, whom he has lost recently after a severe road accident. Sneha has not only to quickly adopt Smriti''s style but also has to convince Shreya, daughter of Ajay and Smriti, that she is her mother.
Aarti has a very natural and engaging style of writing that she has proven time and again in her writings. Overall Resemblance: The Journey of a Doppelganger is Arti Honrao is a good book to read and enjoy. The story has a number of twists flowing swiftly. The ending is marvelous with a fantastic message hidden behind it.
