Book Launch Today: The Ones Closest to You Now Available

By Steph's Scribe @stephverni

Well, here I am. I’m back.

The Ones Closest to You
Now Available

For the last month, I’ve been diligently working to make The Ones Closest to You a book you will enjoy reading. And now I can tell you that it’s out of my hands and into yours.

It’s a relief to let it go, trust me on this. I am so happy that it’s done.

This little graphic depicts the main characters and how I think each one of them looks:

The first questions people ask after you publish a novel is, what are you working on next?

Well, you might be surprised by the answer to that question.

I’m working on finishing up a Prayer Journal and a non-fiction inspirational book about life lessons. I’m excited to sink my teeth into both of those projects.

As for now, I will wait to hear what you think of The Ones Closest to You. Writing this novel allowed me to tap into my experiences working in the fields of baseball and journalism. It was a pleasure to write this story, especially the character of mafia dame Rosa Manetti; she may have been my favorite character I have ever written.

Here’s the blurb for THE ONES CLOSEST TO YOU

It’s 1956, and rumors begin to swirl: the Brooklyn Dodgers may leave New York for California. As a prominent feature writer for The News, Veronica DeMarco is a woman on the move. She also just signed a book deal with a publisher. Veronica shares an apartment with her older sister, Essie, who suffers from polio. In light of her painful condition, Essie stays at home while Veronica goes to work to pay the bills. When Veronica is introduced to Perry Spada, the new sportswriter who covers the Dodgers, they fall in love. But things are never simple. When the editor of The News and old family friend, Robert Barone, assigns Veronica a story about Rosa Manetti, New York’s infamous, incarcerated mafia dame, Veronica not only writes about Rosa’s troubled past, but also unearths secrets about her own family that have been kept from her. These secrets create a toxic relationship between Veronica and Essie, one that may not be repairable. In the process, Veronica learns that maybe she and Rosa aren’t too dissimilar.

Available via Amazon.com via this link. Coming to Barnes & Noble later this week.

Enjoy!
