I caught this Triple-Seven passing overhead at 10,000 feet before making a final turn for approach to SFO. China Eastern became one of China’s “Big Three” airlines (alongside Air China and China Southern Airlines). First flown in 1994, the 777 is the world’s largest twinjet and utilizes the largest-diameter turbofan engines of any aircraft. China Eastern operates 20 of these extended range 777-300 aircraft in their fleet. Underwing registration markings, as seen here, are an international standard though some countries (e.g. USA and Germany) have filed a variance from the standard and do not have them.
