October 2016
I was very pleased to have photographed this Qantas 747 with a special paint scheme, taxiing in front of the brand new control tower at SFO. This aircraft carries a Olympic themed livery and was used to carry the Australian Olympic team back home from Rio after the 2016 Olympic Games. Gold medalists would be given priority for the 747’s 58 business class seats located in the nose section of the aircraft and on the upper deck, followed by those who won silver and bronze medals at the Games. The aircraft features a Boxing Kangaroo decal on the fuselage, as well as a medal draped around the neck of the Flying Kangaroo carrying an Australian flag on the tail.
