This Alaska 737 in the process of taxiing to its arrival gate.  The Boeing 737 Next Generation is the −600/-700/-800/-900 series of the venerable Boeing 737 airliner.  The most common variant is the -800, a stretched version of the 737-700, filling the gap left by the decision to discontinue the McDonnell Douglas MD-80MD-90 following Boeing’s merger with McDonnell Douglas. Over 5,000 of these Next-Gen 737s have been delivered and it is the most widely used narrowbody aircraft worldwide. Alaska operates 59 of these in their fleet.
