Latin America is still a popular place for cryptocurrency use and related activities, so BNB Chain is getting ready to offer a Web3 programming course for students in the area.
The Latin American branch of the education platform Platzi and the BNB Chain, a blockchain network made by the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, have announced that a Web3 programming course will be made for the area.
The goal is to have 30,000 students signed up for the course by the end of the year. Gwendolyn Regina, the investment director at BNB Chain, told Cointelegraph that the main goal of the course is to help developers get better at what they do.
“This is going to be the major educational resource available in Spanish for Web2 developers to build on Web3 with BNB Chain.”
This change is made to help people learn about Web3 and use blockchain technology in the area. Most of the time, the biggest problems for newcomers are lack of access, lack of knowledge, and unclear local laws.
Some people who have bought cryptocurrency may not fully understand how the technology behind it works. In a recent survey by the Motley Fool, more than 10% of crypto owners said they didn’t know how the technology works.
So, learning is very important. It’s especially important in places like Latin America, where people can get away from corrupt banking systems run by the government by using crypto instead. Regina said:
“If we increase the accessibility to resources to build Web3 tools on BNB Chain, we can significantly support the development of the region.”
El Salvador is the first country to start trying to teach the public about cryptocurrencies. The government of Mexico started a grassroots diploma program called Mi Primer Bitcoin to teach young people about cryptocurrency.
People who go to the BNB Chain Developer Camp in Bogota, Colombia, in September will be able to apply for one of a small number of scholarships to take the new BNB Chain course online.
Latin America is becoming a major place where crypto and Web3 technologies are made and used by a lot of people. Just this month, Binance and Mastercard gave people in Argentina cryptocurrency cards that they could use right away.
Latin America needs to find a good balance between the number of new buildings that can be built and the quality of the places where people can shop. Regina says that there are a lot of people who have first-hand knowledge of crypto and how it can be used in the real world.
