Blogoversary Day #3 - Genres I Didn't Read Much Of Before I Started Blogging!
Before I started blogging I pretty much stuck to the paranormal/dystopian books. I was somewhat closed-minded to other genres and formats, specifically self-published and contemporaries. Although I haven't found that gem of a self-published book yet, I've read some good ones and I have some others on my shelves at the moment. I've even gone out and BOUGHT a couple for my Nook, which I'm definitely excited for! I also didn't even own a contemporary YA novel... yeah I'm dead serious. Thanks to the awesome Sasha, I've spread myself out and opened my shelves to contemporaries and I've really enjoyed them!! I've definitely opened myself up to more genres and formats and I'm more willing to accept review books and buy books of the self-published category. I think being a blogger really opens us up to new things and it's easier to sort of find really good books in all genres, rather than sticking to what we know we'll like :)
So, to celebrate some fabulous self-pubbed authors, the amazing Marie Landry, author of Blue Sky Days has offered up a couple ebooks to international winners, and the fantasitc J.A. Redmerski has offered a finished copy of her book Mayfair Moon for one US winner, as well as an ebook for an international winner! So support self-pubbed authors and open up your mind to new genres!
