One thing I always look forward to is blog events, and this weekend just gone I was one of the lucky bloggers to go to BlogCamp in Birmingham.
I'd been feeling under the weather and sat in my PJs the night before, I was debating if to 'man up' or not. I'm extremely pleased I did, as the entire day was fantastic. I wanted to go to a different blog event than I would normally attend, as I usually go to fashion blog meets and for once I fancied meeting other bloggers. This BlogCamp attracted more 'Mummy bloggers' and there were plenty there (and some teenie tiny babies!), but they were such a lovely bunch of people you hardly noticed.
We all started the day with tea & coffee followed by a fabulous talk from Muireann from Bangs and a bun, who I admire for not only her blogging but the running inspiration she provides. She gave tips on building you're own brand through your blog. It was really such a good talk as I came away wanting to get stuck into making my blog better. After this talk we could head off into a choice of workshops, I decided to go find out about creating videos on your blog. It's something I had often thought about but had no idea where to even begin, so decided to hear the Microsoft knowlede of Ian Moulster.
After an early start I was certainly ready for some food! Lunch was yummy and I thorougly enjoyed chatting to other bloggers. I did get asked a lot if I was a mommy blogger too, which I did giggle about - as I'm not quite ready for kids yet!
I was blessed to have the company of my lovely friend Katie, who is the amazing blogger from Snuggle Bubby. You may or may not recall but Katie and I were the two lucky bloggers to go to the Elle Style Awards with Next. It was such a great day catching up.
The afternoon was filled with another workshop we could chose from. I decided to go to the E-courses workshop hosted by the beautiful Samantha Conway - a lady who developed a career out of blogging and her online courses. We then had a session all together discussing the changes with Google, which all of us were very much looking forward to. The day was completed with some tea.... and of course cake... which all of us indulged in!
Being a female lifestyle blogger, fashion is one of my favorite aspects... so when visiting the delights of Birmingham for the conference my outfit was one of my main priorities!
What I'm Wearing: Top - New Look, Jeans - H&M, Flats - Dune, Watch - M&S, Bracelet - Vintage, Handbag - Nica
I decided to go for a simple look but with added charm by the detail on the shoulders of my top. I like to call this outfit the 'inbetween' look. It's not dressy but it's not underdressed.... it's happily inbetween!
So to round off it was a fabulous event, and better yet it was free! I honestly reccommend to anyone who hasn't been to a
BlogCamp event, that you really really should. If you have any questions about it let me know.
xoxo
