Blog is Back up with Links to Our Christmas Stockings and Tree Swing

By Lindsayleighbentley @lindsayLbentley

Well, that was silly. My blog was down for a long time. So sorry! Thanks so much to my girl Andrea for getting it up and running again for me! She also did the new blog design and has a pretty amazing story of her own - you should definitely check her out at her beautiful and inspiring blog HERE.

Back to business:

One of my favorite Christmas decorations in our home this year were our stockings. They were custom handmade by the sweetest woman that I found through Etsy - you can find her shop HERE. I love that she repurposes antique quilts that have too many holes to be used as a blanket any longer. I'm a tad obsessed with old quilts and so these stockings fit our "natural, imperfect and cozy" feel that we want for our home. She offered to make one that we have into a tree skirt, but my husband was afraid it would be "too antique-quilty" around our house, to which I responded that there is no such thing.

Several of you also asked for a link for is the swing we put in the backyard for the kids for Christmas. They LOVE it! It's the perfect alternative to a tire swing (was I the only kid who always fell through the middle and got stuck with arms and legs flailing up through the top with my tiny, panicked butt dragging the ground??) It also won't get that black stuff all over your kids' clothes. Not that I mind my kids getting dirty, but that tire gunk is nasty and I'm not sure it's the healthiest thing for children to be rubbing all over their bodies. The other bonus is that all three of our kids can fit on it together! Hank and his dad hung it from a high branch using some rope they bought and it's just perfect. Henry said it's his favorite Christmas gift.

You can order yours HERE on Amazon.

He's saying "I yove the swing..." sweet boy. I freaking love a speech impediment.

PSA: Please disregard Miles' hair. We are growing out his buzz cut and there's just no way to go about that graciously. It fits well with his personality though, as expressed in a meme I created a few weeks ago in one of those "laugh so you don't cry" moments.

TOMORROW, I'll finally announce the winner of our big giveaway! Stay tuned!!

live well. be well.
