BlackBerry KEYone Launched In India

BlackBerry KEYone which was first unveiled at MWC 2017 has been just launched in India earlier today. The Canadian company in partnership with Optiemus Infracom launched the flagship smartphone at an event held in New Delhi today. KEYone is designed, manufactured and sold by Optiemus Infracom in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

BlackBerry KEYone tries to bring the best of both, a touchscreen along with a physical keypad, to an enterprise focused device. Let us have a look at the technical specifications of BlackBerry KEYone.

The phone comes with a  4.5-inch (1620 x 1080 pixels) display with 3:2 aspect ratio and has a 4-row QWERTY physical backlit keyboard. The highlight of the keyboard is that it identifies gestures, has up to 52 customizable shortcuts, supports flick typing and a fingerprint sensor located under the spacebar key.

The KEYone is powered by a 2GHz Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with 64GB internal storage which can be further enhanced upto2TB using a Micro-SD card. The BlackBerry KEYone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out of the box and thanks to Blackberry’s security features it is one of the secure Android smartphones around.

It comes loaded with BlackBerry Hub a unified messaging inbox which combines emails, texts, and messages from social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, BBM, Whatsapp, Instagram, and others. Another
benefit of BlackBerry Hub is the ability to manage multiple email accounts without switching between apps, with support for Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook, Microsoft Exchange accounts, and other major email providers.

On the optics front, the KEYone houses a 12MP rear camera with dual tome LED flash, Sony IMX378 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. It is capable of recording 4K videos. An 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture is present for selfies.

The phone is powered by a 3,505 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, USB Type C and comes with a hybrid sim slot.

BlackBerry KEYone Price in India, launch offers, and availability

The BlackBerry KEYone comes in Limited Edition Black color and will be available from August 8th, exclusively on Amazon. In terms of launch offers on BlackBerry KEYone, American Express is offering up to 4,000 bonus points, on the purchase of the device, to its credit card members and Vodafone customers will get up to 75 GB of additional data over a period of three months. This offer is valid until 30 the September 2017.
