In addition to showing off a new side of Panther, the announcement over at Entertainment Weekly also dives into the conflict at the heart of “Civil War.” It centers on the issue of accountability following the destruction in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Feeling responsible for the damage caused by Ultron, Stark’s position has shifted and he now believes that heroes should work with the government. Cap, on the other hand, wishes for heroes to remain autonomous.
“In most of the movies, there’s no question who we should be siding with,” Evans told EW. “We all agree Nazis are bad, aliens from space are bad. But this movie’s the first time where you really have two points of view. It becomes a question of morality and I don’t think [Cap] has ever been so uncertain with what right and wrong is.”
According to EW, both sides will seek Black Panther’s allegiance. The magazine also promises to reveal specifically which characters are in the film, although fans already have a hunch about that thanks to leaked promotional art.
