Well, I'm officially 26 years old. My wonderful boyfriend did a seriously killer job of making it a memorable birthday and making me feel extra special. After a surprise hair appointment (SO much better than flowers ladies) we packed our bags and headed to the delightful Sin City for four days. We enjoyed Fremont Street in all its glory, stayed at the Rush Tower at the Golden Nugget, and had far too many delicious cocktails at 'The Downtown Cocktail lounge'.
We also hit up a rad new spot on Fremont called 'Common Wealth' and thanks to my sly boyfriend, we got into the speakeasy 'The Laundry Room'. I followed the rules, so you won't see any photos here. It was quite the experience. 'Common Wealth' isn't filled with your normal Downtown Vegas/Fremont street crowd. The cliental is much better looking, dresses to the nines, and clearly has money to blow on an expensive cocktail. The music in my opinion sucked. They are doing it right though! and definitely choosing the right stuff that caters to their audience. Just isn't my jam. The interior is super cool. Lots of amazing lighting fixtures, velvet push-cushion victorian style chairs, dark wood tables, and some of the most silliest looking bouncers. We get dudes, when you aren't here bouncing underage girls you're living at the gym. As for 'The Laundry Room', I'd heard the drinks were strong and for $15 a cocktail thats usually a good thing but my Mint Julip was so strong I could barely even enjoy it. Kind of a bummer.
