Beyond Multimedia, It is Multi Segment Storytelling

The start of the story about Hillary Clinton's rising presidential campaign impressed me as perhaps totally multimedia. No such thing. What I found was a comprehensive story, broken into segments that facilitated reading and navigation.

The effective storytelling begins with the headline: What Hillary Clinton Would Need to Do To Win.

This is folowed by an introductory paragraph:

Hillaray Rodham Clinton announced on Sunday that she is running for president. Here is a look at what she will need to do to win.

After that, it is a combination of segments, introduced with subheads: The Coalition, The Map, The Message, etc.

I found this to be an effective way of helping the reader move through the story, and, while this is still a narrative in terms of length, it is not presented in the traditional way.

It is another example of editors experimenting with different storytelling formats.

I admit I was hoping for some multimedia here, but, in the end, was satisfied with the information and how it was presented.

I would create a storytelling palette that iincludes multimedia and multi segments.
