Best Torrent Sites That Work

Posted on the 12 January 2024 by Jyoti92 @Jyoti_Chauhan1

Best torrent sites in 2024 is what this list is all about. You’ll find the best music torrent sites, book torrent sites, torrents for games, software, and everything else here.

On top of that, I’ve also included a detailed description on how to turn these websites into safe torrent sites (they aren’t by default). You’ll not only be downloading torrents, but downloading them anonymously and without risking getting hacked.

As of January, 2024 all of these are working torrent sites. I’ve personally used them ensuring anything that’s dead or outdated isn’t included.

None of these torrents will ask you for registration or any form of payment.

Protect yourself before accessing the best Torrent sites.

There are a few very serious concerns I’d like to address before you start accessing these best torrent sites.

Torrents are a gray area.

“Yes, they aren’t always illegal.”

However, they’re most often used to share copyrighted, pirated and stolen digital data.

Downloading such data is extremely illegal and often a direct crime in most nations. Which is why we advise AGAINST downloading anything illegal off torrents.

However, the more serious concern is the transparent nature of torrents.

When you’re downloading a file, or someone else is downloading your file,

“Your IP address is shared with the other parties”.

It’s not a “policy”, it’s just the way torrents work. A technicality. When downloading torrents, your IP is shared with the parties sharing the file!

This means, your ISP, and any other malicious third-party has access to your IP address as well. With your IP address, your location, web history, activities and in most cases identity can be revealed within minutes as well!

Not just that, at times hackers with access to your IP address can hack your entire system and every other aspect of your life. Moreover, torrent files are one of the easiest options for hackers to hack into your systems.

And then there’s the legality. If something goes sideways on the legal front, you need to remain anonymous, don’t you?

The solution- A good, torrent-friendly VPN

The simple solution to all of these is a good VPN. Even ThePirateBay (the world’s #1 Torrent site) urges you to use a VPN.

And then there’s YTS, another torrent site warning you!

What the VPN does on the surface-level is simply mask/hide your IP address. On the technical side, it provides you encryption, more security and a lot more.

I’ll recommend going with NordVPN. Why NordVPN?

Well, for a VPN to be “good”, it must adhere to a few very important requirements.

First- It must be “torrent-friendly”. Yes, not all VPNs allow or are good when downloading Torrents. NordVPN has servers specifically designed for torrenting, called P2P servers.

Second- It must have a “no logs policy”. While all VPNs “claim” that they do not store logs, many have been caught lying. With these logs, any protection they offer you becomes pointless. NordVPN is a VPN that has been audited independently and publicly, by third-party firms.

Third- Because you’ll use Torrents, you’ll mostly  “download” content, your VPN must offer good download speeds. As some of you’re aware, VPNs do hurt your speed. NordVPN is one of the very rare VPNs that doesn’t!

Fourth- Legality! NordVPN is based out of Panama. Even if there are legal proceedings, the fact that it’s a company based out of Panama makes you virtually invisible to anyone.

Overall features: NordVPN offers features that most other VPNs lack. Some of these features include “Double VPN” (changes your IP twice), protection from viruses, “onion over VPN” and others.

Cost: Despite its features, NordVPN is one of the most cost-effective VPNs out there. And there’s also a refund policy if for some reason it doesn’t work for you.

Due to all the legal and copyright issues, most of the best Torrenting sites on this list will probably be “blocked” for you. This is probably your ISP or government’s doing.

Again, a good VPN helps you bypass such blocks.

Yes, you’re free to use any other good VPN you want to. However, I’d suggest going with NordVPN for all the reasons listed above.

1. ThePirateBay

Website: https://thepiratebay.org/

I doubt any list of the top torrent sites can exist without mentioning ThePirateBay. This is where it all started. It’s older than some of you reading this article (20 years). It also undoubtedly is a potential option for the best torrent sites 2024 title!

Due to its age and popularity, it’s the one of the most seeder-rich sites on this list. That means download speed and availability will never be an issue.

You may be searching for the best best movie torrent sites, anime, video, software, games, porn or anything else, ThePirateBay probably has it all. Simply use the search-bar to type what you’re searching for and tick the category (mentioned earlier).

In case you don’t have anything specific in mind you can use its “vague” filters. These are “recent torrents”, “top 100”, “music” etc.

If you’re searching for some kind of “videos”, it even offers “quality” filters such as 1080P/720P/BluRay and many others.

2. 1337X

Website: https://www.1337x.to/

This is one of the more “beautiful” looking Torrent sites on this list. Searching for the torrents you need is super easy. There’s a big search box that lets you search for your content. Of course you can also use its long list of category-buttons. These are movies, games, anime, documentaries, music, XXX and so on.

There are two other filters you can use from the top-bar, “top 100” and “trending”. As the name suggests, these let you find a list of torrents you may find interesting that others have liked as well.

If I’m mentioning it on the second spot here, it clearly has a massive number of active users. This guarantees it has a very good number seeders for all its torrents. I’ve almost always got 6-7Mbps speed for most my downloads.

You can also check the comments under some of its posts which tell you how authentic the torrents are or if there are any issues with them.

3. YTS

Website: https://yts.mx/

If you’re here for movie torrent sites, YTS is the perfect answer for you. Yes, it doesn’t offer any other kind of files except movies.

The interface is different from most other best torrent sites on this list in the sense that it uses big thumbnails. It’s closer to free movie streaming site rather than a torrent site.

In fact, its specialty is “HD movies at the smallest size”. Now you can get quality at many places but an affordable “size”? That’s rare, isn’t it?

While there aren’t many search filters, you do get to choose from “4K”, “Trending” or “browse movies”.

Because it’s a movie torrent site, you can see the IMDb ratings, Tomatometer, Rotten Tomatoes and other metrics for each torrent. Not just that, you can even “request subtitles”. It even shows you screenshots of the movie so you can judge the quality better! Then there are reviews from other users as well as a comment section that helps you clear any other doubts if you have.

4. TorrentZ

Website: https://torrentz2.nz/

TorrentZ is something that introduced me to Torrents about a decade back. I’m not sure if this is the official, original site but it sure lets you download torrents.

The interface isn’t impressive but it sure is simple. There’s a big search-bar you can use to search for your content. Of course, you can also simply use the other vague filters. These are “trending”, “top” and “new”. The trending filter gives you the most viral torrents at the moment. The top filter will obviously give you the most popular ones and finally for the freshest ones use the “new” button.

I said it’s not “impressive” because there are no category filters. You can not type something and click on “games” or “software” to make the search easier. Yes, torrents of all categories are available here. So you’ll find movies, apps, games and everything else. The problem is you’ll have to manually scroll through the list to make sure you get the right file type.

5. TorrentGalaxy

Website: http://torrentgalaxy.to/

Stream torrents, without downloading. That’s the superpower TorrentGalaxy boasts of!

I also like when these sites do not look like they’re from the 90s. TorrentGalaxy gives you just that. A very modern, welcoming, easy-to-navigate interface. On the homepage, you’ll see categories such as “first cam”, “new movies”, “new TV” etc. There’s even a slider that shows “staff pick showcase”.

Now, it may look like just a movie torrent site but it’s not. It has every type of content be it books, games, software, music, anime or anything else.

If you scroll down on the homepage, you’ll see multiple categories and torrents in them. Despite being a new platform, the number of seeders and leechers is more than impressive. You’ll almost find seeders in the thousands.

Its torrent listings are extremely detailed as well. You’ll find a synopsis, genre, cast information, runtime etc. when on a movie torrent page. Even screenshots are available for the quality.

6. EZTV

Website: https://eztvx.to/

Yes, you guessed it. This is another one of the movie torrent sites that’s exclusively dedicated to TV series. Even “movies” aren’t easily available here.

Sure, the interface could be made somewhat better, cleaner, more modern. But hey, if you need movie torrents, you’ll find those here.

The homepage is full of many links, most of which you won’t ever use. There’s a small

search-box that you’ll use to search for the movies you want. As for the search filters, you can use its resolution filters (480P/720P/1080P) or quality filters (WebRip/X265/Reality etc.).

There is a small list of torrents under a column titled “Aired today on EZTV” that shows you some extra torrents you may like.

The number of seeders isn’t “wow” but is acceptable. It does display screenshots of the torrent to give you a better idea of the quality though.

7. Nyaa

Website: https://nyaa.si/

If you’re here searching for the best anime torrent sites, this one’s for you. It’s primarily dominated by anime and other content from Asian countries.

While it’s primarily and predominantly for anime and other similar content, it does have “software” and “games” available.

You can filter for content using its filters such as English translated, non-english translated, graphics, photos, lossless, RAW and so on.

While the number of seeders wouldn’t “wow” you, it’s enough to get your downloads started.

8. LimeTorrents

Website: https://limetorrents.so/

The name and interface makes you feel fresh. You may be searching for game torrent sites, or maybe software, anime, movies, music and others? This one has it all.

The search interface covers everything. Either search for what you want directly, or type your keyword and then click on one of the categories I just mentioned. This ensures you always find the right file type no matter what.

The number of seeders isn’t impressive but it won’t disappoint you either. I’ve found a few hundred seeders for most older content. Do note that sometimes the website get stuck when you search for torrents. It’ll leave you at a “Just a moment” page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone who’s here searching for a list of working torrent sites also is bound to have a few extra questions. Allow me to answer a few.

Is Torrenting a Cyber crime?

Let’s address the Elephant in the room. Are Torrents legal? Yes. Despite the common misconception, torrents are 100% legal. They’re just a file-transfer protocol (method). Of course, because of the ease of the process, it’s often used for sharing copyrighted, pirated and stolen data, now that’s illegal. Torrenting however, when used to download legal content is 100% legal by itself.

Is VPN necessary for Torrenting?

Technically, no. You “can” access and download torrents without a VPN. However, doing so would mean you’re exposing yourself. Your identity, location, web activities, history, purchase history, interests and a lot more can be obtained from your IP address. The IP address is shared with the other parties when you’re using torrents. Hence, using a VPN almost becomes mandatory if you do not wish to fall prey to legal hurdles or hackers.

Can I use any VPN for Torrenting?

Yes. Any VPN that changes your IP address, has torrent-friendly (P2P) servers, and doesn’t store logs technically works for torrenting. Of course, getting a VPN that offers additional protection such as double encryption, ad-blocker, malware scanner etc. is a better choice. This is why I emphasised on using NordVPN instead of other VPNs.

How does a VPN protect me while torrenting?

I’ll keep it short. The “IP address” is used to identify you on the web. A VPN hides your IP and gives you a new IP of its own before connecting you to the web. So, your IP, activities and everything else can still be tracked. They just can’t be linked to you cause it’s not the IP your ISP/govt. Provided to you.

Are torrents safe to use?

Torrents, the “technology” is safe to use. However, it’s a very easy way for hackers to infect you with malicious code. They can simply attach malware to a movie/game or any other file. Or, because your IP address is exposed when you’re torrenting, hackers/law officers or anyone else can hack your system or identity. Because you’re probably already downloading something illegal, you can’t exactly go to the cops for help either! Hence, torrents aren’t safe to use unless you have hidden your identity AND have a VPN in-built with a malware scanner!

Best torrent sites- Conclusion

I”m confident you won’t run out of the top torrenting sites anytime soon, would you? Simply remember torrents are the favorite playground for hackers, copyright bullies and law enforcement. That’s because tracking you down becomes extremely easy.

Hence, never download torrents without a good VPN. Again, many VPNs will betray you and leave you exposed when pressured by the govt./law. It has happened multiple times in the past (e.g. PureVPN). Hence, ensure that a VPN qualifies for the requirements I mentioned in the initial section of this list.

That’s about it folks. Go download some torrents or seed someone else’s on these best torrent sites and stay safe!
