Value For Money: Best Gaming Monitor Under 15000

Even though the viewing angles for the TN panel aren’t always great, the response times and more importantly the price can make it a preferable option for budget gamers. Especially, if you are only looking for the best gaming monitor under 15000 and will not be using the monitor for PhotoShop or any other color-sensitive work, going with a TN panel makes sense.

Among all the TN panels that were available in stock at the time of writing, the LG Ultragear 24GL650F stands out as the best value for money option among best gaming monitor under 15000 criteria in my opinion.

LG Ultragear 24GL650F 1080p 144Hz TN Monitor

The 1080p (FHD) monitor with TN panel might not reproduce the best colors LG monitors are known for, but as I eluded to earlier, this option suits the best if you are looking for a monitor particularly for gaming.

The monitor’s price keeps fluctuating, but it is always under our budget of INR 15,000 and for that money, you are getting a lot. 144Hz refresh rate on a 24-inch display, 2xHDMI and 1x DisplayPort inputs, Headphones Out port and 100×100 VESA mount are few of the notable features. Sturdy stand with height adjust is an added bonus too! All that combined with 1ms native response time for pixels make this one great monitor for the price.

ProsCons

  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • Height-adjustable stand
  • LG’s renowned support and hardware quality
  • TN Panel means bad mediocre color reproduction and viewing angles
  • 1ms and Freesync are difficult to run together, especially if you wish to use HDMI

Best IPS Gaming Monitor Under 15000

Unless you go full crazy on an OLED or nano-LED monitors, there’s just nothing that beats IPS panels in terms of color accuracy and viewing angles. Heck, I recently switched to an IPS panel from a laptop TN panel and I never wish to go back!

And when you see an FHD 144Hz monitor with an IPS panel among options for the best gaming monitor under 15000, you thank the god for making IPS technology better and cheaper for everyone. Actually, if possible, thank the engineers who put their heart and soul into developing this technology.

So here we have, the Acer Nitro VG240YP, with 1080p 144Hz panel and 1ms VRB advertised response time.

Acer Nitro VG240YP 1080p 144Hz IPS Monitor

I mean sure, Acer must have cut some corners to deliver an IPS panel with 1ms advertised response time and 144Hz refresh rate, but that doesn’t take away anything from the fact that how happy I am to see one option available in this price range. As the technology keeps getting better, we might get to see big players targeting this price range with their IPS monitors too!

The monitor itself shows zero lack of gamery look, and with 2xHDMI, 1xDisplay ports on the back, there’s nothing to complain about in that department. But, 1ms advertised response time does not work with FreeSync enabled. If you want a tear-free experience in case your GPU can’t keep up, you will have to settle for 11ms or 5ms (with extreme VRB – which gives terrible ghosting issues).

ProsCons

  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • IPS Panel – better viewing angles
  • Good pricing for an 1080p IPS monitor with high refresh rate
  • Budget IPS Panel – not the best response times
  • DisplayPort cable required to run FreeSync not provided in the box

Best Curved Gaming Monitor Under 15000

Even though I am not much intimidated by them, some people prefer their monitors curved. It gives added immersion and for non-IPS panels, the curve makes the picture look better if you are sitting at proper position.

However unlikely it may sound, we have a curved monitor in our list of best gaming monitor under 15000. AOPEN is a sub-brand of Acer, and you can expect similar after-sales experience for this monitor, like if you bought an Acer monitor.

AOPEN 27 Inch FHD Curver Gaming Monitor 144Hz 4ms 27HC1R

The monitor has a VA panel, which in terms of viewing angles and response time falls in between IPS and TN. You don’t get near-perfect color like an IPS panel, but better than TN and still maintaining good response times. The monitor has 1800R curve, 4ms advertised response time and FreeSync support. Added bonus is support for DVI, HDMI and VGA input, with cables included in the box.

ProsCons

  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • 1800R Curve
  • TN Panel means bad mediocre color reproduction and viewing angles
  • Backlight bleed is bad as per experience of few users

Gaming Monitor Under 15000 with the Fastest Panel

I have talked previously about TN panel and their fast response times, haven’t I? Well, this gaming monitor from Acer features a 165Hz capable panel that sports 0.7ms response time!

Objectively, this makes it the best gaming monitor on this list, period! But wait, then why this isn’t the one and only item on this list? Because nobody ‘only’ uses their monitor for gaming, and this monitor is also the highest priced monitor on this list. That price increase might not be justified in everyone’s opinion!

With that out of the way, let’s talk about the KG271P from Acer. It is a 27-inch monitor with that characteristic angled stand and red accents. Even though I don’t recommend using a 27-inch panel that only has a resolution of 1920×1080, some prefer large screens and this will be definitely be one of their favourites.

Acer 27-inch 165 Hz 0.7 MS FHD Gaming Monitor with TN Panel KG271P

Acer has seen praise from its user for the responsiveness and 165Hz refresh rate of this panel. And in my non-professional opinion, I recommend spending the extra money and getting this monitor over any other on this list if you wish to game professionally, or just play competitive games a lot.

The monitor also has a pair of 2W speakers that can be used to test whether audio drivers are installed. Like others on this list, you can use FreeSync with AMD/Nvidia graphics cards, provided you use proper cables. In fact, you will get a DisplayPort cable in-box with this monitor. Along with DisplayPort, other ports on the back are 1xHDMI and 1xDual Link DVI. Still no USB hub to see here, but 400 nits is a welcome boost to brightness.

ProsCons

  • 165Hz refresh rate and 0.7ms response time
  • 400 nits brightness
  • DP cable included
  • Again, TN Panel means bad mediocre color reproduction and viewing angles
  • Not color calibrated out of the box
  • Stand looks good but feels wobbly
