Since Amazon introduced its first Echo speaker in 2014, Google assistant and Siri jumped on board with their own intelligent loudspeakers and voice control. However, the Amazon voice assistant was the first to advocate voice integrations in the smart home, and it still offers the most integrations in the entire room.

Amazon's Echo Dot with Clock was our previous favorite Alexa speaker, but with this year's new line of products, the fourth-generation flagship Echo speaker gets the nod. At $ 100, the new spherical speaker is a bit more expensive than the fourth-generation Echo Dot for $ 50, but the improvements in sound quality and some fascinating smart home features justify the added cost.
The new shape characterizes the new Echo speaker from Amazon. While the third-generation Echo offered a barely noticeable improvement in sound quality over its predecessor, the fourth-generation spherical version offers significantly better audio output, including respectable bass for a speaker in its price range.
In the smart home area, the fourth generation Echo also has an integrated ZigBee receiver that takes on a function of the now defunct Amazon Echo Plus. With the ZigBee receiver, the new Echo acts as a smart home connection point for compatible light bulbs, plugs and other ZigBee-based accessories. That said, you can use the Echo itself as a hub without the need for additional hardware to bring these devices online.

Ring's $ 80 Peephole Cam is a unique product for the Amazon-owned company. The Peephole Cam does not mount on a door frame or any other side on the side of your door, but replaces a conventional peephole.

Report that Amazon keeps transcripts of your voice conversationsEven after deleting the Alexa audio recordings, there were concerns about user privacy. Senator Chris Coons, a Delaware Democrat, wrote a letter to Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon Search for answers about Amazon's Alexa user data and how it is stored.
