New Xtra Mile Recordings signings (and Rose Coloured Records alumni!) Berries have shared new single ‘Copy’, a single about ‘imitation and how we are programmed by society to try and live up to other people’s expectations of happiness and how unhealthy, self-critical and obsessive this way of existing can be’.
Opening with scattergun Biffy-style riffs and instructions to ‘stand your ground’, there are also elements of Sleater-Kinney in the fuzzy grunge-meets-emo sound. It’s a twisting and turning 3 minutes and 45 seconds that ends in a potent blast of noise and passion.
