To prove this point, Sanders’ record shows that he cosponsored the following animal rights legislation during 2014:
Puppy Uniform Protection and Safety Act, which would make breeders and pet stores provide puppies with good environments.
Big Cats and Public Safety Protection Act, which would prevent the breeding and possession of big cats
Captive Primate Safety Act, which would make it unlawful for a person to receive, import, export, acquire, sell, or purchase a live animal of any prohibited wildlife species.
Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act, which would criminalize attending an animal fighting event.
The Egg Products Inspection Act, which mandates improved conditions for egg-laying chickens by eliminating the use of uninhabitable cages.
Because of his work, Sanders has received a one-hundred percent rating from the Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF), as well as the same rating from the Defenders of Wildlife. This is pretty impressive.
Animals cannot vote, but the people who love them can. So make sure that if you are “Feeling the Bern”, you cast your vote for Mr. Sanders come election day.
