Beg Federal Government to Fulfil Agreements With Us – ASUU to Nigerians

ASUU Chairman, College of Ibadan, Professor Ayo Akinwole made the decision whereas addressing journalists on Tuesday.

The Educational Employees Union of Universities (ASUU) has referred to as on Nigerians to stress the federal government to satisfy its settlement.

ASUU Chairman, College of Ibadan, Professor Ayo Akinwole on Tuesday urged Nigerians to beg the federal authorities fulfill its a part of the settlement it signed with the union to avert looming strike motion.

Akinwole talking shortly after a congress of the union in Ibadan, appealed to Nigerians to prevail on the current administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari to implement the agreements reached with ASUU in 2009.

Flanked by different govt members of the union, Akinwole mentioned it was now evident that the current administration was paying lip service to schooling on the detriment of youngsters of the poor.

The ASUU chairman defined that there can be no want for a strike if the federal government has been trustworthy.

He mentioned the union solely needs the federal government to be trustworthy.

"We want to inform you of the antics of the federal authorities. The federal government has not been fulfilling agreements since 2009. "The federal government has been foot-dragging. The federal government is but to fulfil its agreements. "We are actually telling the general public that the federal government is enjoying with a time bomb. "We are actually calling on the folks to prevail on the Nigerian authorities to honour agreements with ASUU. "If the federal government fulfils its agreements, there can be no want for a strike. "What we are saying is that the government should be faithful".
