Beer Review – Perrin Brewing Pineapple Upside Down IPA

By Boozedancing @boozedancing

If you're a long-standing subscriber to our blog and YouTube Channel (and if you aren't already, you definitely should be!), then you are well aware that we have a thing for mentioning desserts in our reviews...

Cherry Pie.
Pannacotta.
Apple Pie.
Orange Jello.
Peach Pie.
Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Cheesecake.
Iced Animal Crackers.
Etc. etc...

I guess you could say that we have a bit of a sweet tooth, or maybe it's the fact that drinking gives us a serious case of the munchies. Whatever the reason, we enjoy our desserts; particularly when we can pair them with a delicious beverage!

The subject of today's review, which was named after Pineapple Upside Down Cake, a dessert that Limpd was fortunate enough to partake of during his recent family summer vacation to Aruba, is Pineapple Upside Down IPA by Perrin Brewing Company of Comstock Park, Michigan. Here's what the brewer has to say about the beer with the yummy-sounding name:

Taking inspiration from the classic dessert, Perrin has flipped the script with this new IPA, incorporating wheat and lactose for a decadent and creamy cake-like mouthfeel, balanced with Sabro and Styrian Cardinal hops, which lend notes of tropical fruit and coconut. The limited release brew was soaked in the flavor equivalent of 500 pineapples to provide the sweet-and-tart citrus punch promised by the name.

Being big fans of all things pineapple, we were super excited to give this beer a try. Did this beer taste as delicious as it sounds? To see and hear if this beer lived up to our expectations, click the play button on the following video:
