After decades of traveling to Hawaii, I finally made it over to Dillingham Airfield near the North Shore. Off to one side of a beaten section of tarmac lies this derelict Twin Beech (N82T). The native flora is swallowing up this Beech D18S formerly operated by Scenic Air Tours. Built in 1950, this aircraft went thru many owners including Sears Roebuck, before coming out to the islands in 1978. Unlike the neighboring Twin Beech hulk, this aircraft would only fly a few years before being stripped for parts in 1981 and ending up here. The Beechcraft Model 18 (or “Twin Beech”) was manufactured by the Beech Aircraft Corporation from 1937 to 1969 with over 9,000 built.
