Beauty | Introducing WhiteWash Laboratories

By Megan Lillie @meganjanelillie
Before Christmas I announced that I had landed a new job as the Digital Marketing Exec for WhiteWash Laboratories, so I better off introduce them to you, right?
If you had told me that when I left University I'd be kinda working in the Dentistry industry, I'd have given you a confused side eye. But after curiously meeting the guys at WhiteWash Labs, I became really interested and impressed with their offering in the oral care market, both professionally and commercially through their Nano Range
Now I know what you're thinking... Teeth whitening, Megan? Really?
But hold off and lemme tell you that WhiteWash isn't like any of those fads you see brainwashing the lives of people on Instagram. After five years of hard work, the brand have created their first range of 'smile cosmetics' that have been formulated and developed by leading UK dentists. Not just your regular Joe, right? Also, psssst... They actually work.
When I started, I was kindly given their Nano Whitening Kit to give me my first try of their products. Buying the kit gives a slight discount instead of buying all the products separately and is a great way to see what they're about.
At WhiteWash, it's recommended that just like you 'Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise' your skin in that 3-step routine, you should also have a routine for your teeth. It makes sense, right? By following the 'Floss | Wash | Brush' routine, you get the best results and can really see the benefits of the products.
It's strange because I bet you've always done it the other way round too?
I'd be a liar if I said I was already a regular floss-er. I can probably count on my hands the number of times I have ever flossed in my life so that's something new that I've taken on board because of my new role. Gotta practice what you preach, right?
Using the Micro-Riser and/or Anti-Stain Floss helps to remove any food debris and plaque , as well as brighten up areas in-between the teeth. Honestly, the things that come from flossing is insane (and totally gross)!
Although I've always used mouthwash, every single one that I chosen had an awful taste that made me not want to do it. Like, I don't want to swill my mouth out with vodka (unless it's a Friday). The Whitening Mouthwash tastes minty and is alcohol free so that it is not so overpowering. It helps to freshen the breath and remove any debris the floss may have loosened.
The Whitening Toothpaste is where the magic really happens; with a unique combination of 10 whitening ingredients, it works a treat. It again has a minty taste but it also has a great consistency. It doesn't feel gritty, like you're brushing sand on to your teeth, but includes micro-polishers to help remove plaque. The toothpaste is free of lots of nasties as well; SLS free, PEG free, Triclosan free, Paraben free, the list goes on!
It's also recommended that you 'spit, don't rinse' after brushing. Meaning that instead of swilling your mouth with water afterwards, you leave the product on the teeth so that the active ingredients can effectively do their job.
The products also work to help remineralise the teeth, preventing tooth decay and helps reduce sensitivity, which can often occur when whitening your teeth.
An aspect that I absolutely LOVE about the brand is their BrushForABrush Campaign. This is that for every WhiteWash product purchased, the brand donates to a toothbrush to a child in need. They have helped communities within the UK and worldwide, and I just think it's such a special aspect.
Isn't it a bloody lovely brand to work for? Why don't you give the products a little try? Products that are great for your oral health and will also restore the natural white in your teeth? YES PLEASE!
