Story: Beautiful Friend starts as a pandemic sweeps across the country, and Daniel (Jones) finds life difficult. He thinks every woman is against him, and the world doesn’t understand. His paranoia leads him to abduct Madison (Meyer) and force her to be his partner. They travel to the desert to live out of his van, where she is chained inside.
Madison has no option but to follow Daniel’s rules if she ever considers escaping. However, Daniel has planned for everything and is ready to snap, which is the first sign of resistance. How far will Daniel go to get what he wants?
Verdict on Beautiful Friend
Beautiful Friend is a horror thriller following an incel man who gets obsessed with a young woman. He abducts her to make her his partner and does whatever it takes to drill out any resistance she has.
This is a disturbing movie that shows the extreme measures someone goes to for what they believe to be happiness. It balances the mental health aspects of his problems while putting the victim through a traumatic experience. This is not an easy watch and is filled with uncomfortable sequences, that are chilling to the core. It feels like a movie that wants to upset people and it doesn’t hold back on making that happen.
