Beat Radio Returns with ‘hurricanes, Xo’ [premiere]

Since the release of their first full-length album, The Great Big Sea, back in 2006, Beat Radio has unsurprisingly developed a loyal and passionate following. Last year, the band set out to produce what they referred to as an “expansive, adventurous concept record,” which they were able to fund thanks to their fan base and Kickstarter. The result is the band’s fourth album, Hard Times, Go!. The sonic manifestation of their vision follows in the hazy footsteps of 2010’s Golden Age, but has more of a pop feel with Robyn’s Body Talk cited as a major influence. The album will be released digitally and as limited edition vinyl on February 19th through Awkward For Life Records and is available for pre-order over on Beat Radio’s Bandcamp. If you can’t wait 19 whole days, don’t worry we’ve got something to hold you over…

Without further ado, here is “Hurricanes, XO”, the opening track off Hard Times, Go!, in all its lo-fi, scuzzy glory. You’re welcome.
