Bears cut ties with Velus Jones by waiving him and release Khari Blasingame
The Bears made roster moves ahead of their game against the Commanders, waiving wide receiver/running back Velus Jones and releasing fullback Khari Blasingame. Jones, a third-round pick in 2022, had limited playing time and was not used as a kick returner this season despite being drafted for that role. He had 12 catches and 19 carries during his time with the team. Blasingame appeared in two games this season and 32 games over the last two seasons, with limited offensive production. Both players were let go to open up spots on the roster.
