Beabadoobee has shared the video for new single ‘Worth It’ ahead of the release of debut album ‘Fake It Flowers’ on 16 October via Dirty Hit. The singer-songwriter says the song ‘is simply about teenage infidelity and the mistakes one can make when they’re tempted to do things’.
Opening with a blast of drums that transport you straight into the Bronze from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the song captures the spirit of Mazzy Star and moulds it with a more anthemic arena-ready indie-rock sound – complete with grungey undertones. Beabadoobee talks about making a connection with someone you possibly shouldn’t: ‘If I shut up, I’m scared I’ll drown but maybe the best for now’.
