Primer - some people love them and swear by them for everyday makeup, others don't. Whichever boat you're in, today's post may be of interest (especially if you want to try saving a few pennies) I'm comparing Benefit's Porefessional to the new Baby Skin from Maybelline.
The Porefessional is the pricey one of the two, costing £24.50 whereas Maybelline's Baby Skin is £7.99. There's currently an offer in Boots where you can buy one Maybelline product and get another half price, so it could work out 6 times cheaper! Both products are 22ml and in terms of packaging, they're pretty similar. The nozzle end on Baby Skin feels a bit better than the flat end of Porefessional as I find it stops you wasting the product.
The main difference between the two, is the color. Baby Skin is a clear gel consistency with a silicone base (so it may not be to everyone's taste) whereas Porefessional is more of a tinted balm and offers a little bit of coverage. A primer for me is mainly a base to build from and I look for a product that will minimise the appearance of pores, make foundation last longer, avoid creasing and avoid clinging to dry areas (mm, lovely). Both The Porefessional and Baby Skin do this, Benefit's offering giving a little bit of a tint to my skin while Baby Skin dries to a matte finish. It really depends what budget you have as to which primer you may decide to go for. If it's for everyday wear and you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Benefit's Porefessional, I'd definitely recommend Baby Skin. For 1/3 of the price it gives a flawless finish that really makes my makeup last longer and my skin feel so soft and smooth. It's also a good one to go for if you're new to primer since it's affordable and if you pick it up while the offer is running, you can treat yourself to another product too (I picked up The Rocket mascara)Have you tried these primers? What do you think?
