These positions are non-represented. Applicants hired as full-time limited duration employees may receive similar benefits to those received by other non-represented employees (see the additional information section of the posting for more information on this.) Applicants hired as part-time temporary employees will be treated the same as other temporary employees. We anticipate that the positions will last from two to three years. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and familiarity of the Eugene Springfield Fire Department. You will also gain experience that will be beneficial should you have a desire to gain regular employment in EMS and/or Fire services, including Eugene Springfield Fire. The Basic Life Support Technician (BLS Tech) is responsible for the pre-hospital care, packaging and transportation of sick and/or injured patients, primarily on code 1 scene calls within the Eugene/Springfield area. Work is performed within the scope of an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT). ONLY ONLINE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. This will be an ongoing posting until further notice. Oregon law requires that an out-of-state license holder must obtain a valid Oregon license (with appropriate endorsements) within 30 days of becoming domiciled in the state (ORS 803.355).
