Amy & Lee Got Hitched!
Ah what an absolute corker of a day Amy & Lee had at their wedding at Barmbyfield Barn a few weeks ago.
Matt started the day with Lee and the gents making some bacon and sausages for breakfast. Or perhaps it would be better to say they were trying very very hard to make bacon and sausages. After a brief wrestle with the cafeteria they even managed a bit of coffee. Once they mastered the fine art of breakfast cookery they got dressed in some rather dapper suits and matching polka-dot socks. I do have to say that I always look forward to the sockwear of the groom’s party. As a fine connoisseur of jaunty socks – I have to say that polka dots are always a solid choice.
I began my morning with the Amy and the ladies at Amy’s mother’s house. I love that everyone took a little time out in the morning to have a breakfast out in the garden. Not everyone remembers to give themselves time to spend with their friends and family so it was absolutely awesome to see everyone having a champagne breakfast. Amy’s bridesmaid did her makeup and soon Amy slipped into her fantastic lace circle-skirt dress from Andrea Bambridge.
Then Amy set off for St. Catherine’s in the most amazing soft-top classic Mini – talk about showing up in your dream car!
The service at St. Catherine’s was performed by the ever-awesome Reverend Jan who really does give some of the best wedding ceremonies. After they became official – everyone popped over to Barmbyfield Barn for the meal and evening shenanigans. We took the opportunity to grab a few photos with the Mini (would be rude not to!) and then off to the spacehoppers where Lee promptly tore his trousers.
Spacehopper 1 – Groom 0.
After much garden games, cricket and a helluva lot of spacehopper action – everyone got busy throwing shapes on the dancefloor. However, the evening festivities weren’t over just yet – LET THERE BE CAKE! In honor of the season premiere of the Great British Bake Off (which they were missing in order to get hitched!) they had their very own baking competition. Every guest brought a sweet or savory – and one even brought a strangely ‘unidentifiable’ (always gotta be one!) and in the end awards were given to the best effort. There was even a visit by Paul and Mary who assured me that there were absolutely no soggy bottoms.
Congratulations Amy & Lee!
