Eggs are an excellent source of protein and can be included in your baby’s diet after 8 months of age. We usually start out with egg yolks, which aid in weight gain and are rich in Vitamin A, B12 and D. Egg whites can trigger allergies in babies and are recommended for babies above 1 year. Be sure to check our post on giving eggs to babies before introducing it in your little one’s diet. And when you’re ready, you’re all set to try out our banana omelet recipe for toddlers!
Banana Omelette Recipe For Toddlers
Ingredients :
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Oil for pan frying the omelette
Method:
1. Mash the banana with a fork if it is ripe enough. Mine was still a little firm, so I pulsed it in a blender.
2. In a mixing bowl whisk the banana with the egg yolk till well combined.
3. Season with black pepper powder
4. Heat a pan and drizzle a little oil on it. Pour half the batter on the pan.
5. Cover and cook on a low to medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
6. Flip the omelet carefully and cook the other side as well.
7. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve warm.
A banana omelet probably sounds unusual, but rest assured, your kids will love it! The mashed ripe banana and egg yolk make this a soft omelet that’s great for finger foods. Perfect for fussy toddlers who prefer to eat just a little before running off to play!
