Balik, Kestane Or Süt Misir of Istanbul: the Food Choice is Yours

By Artborghi @artborghi

After a freezing cold cruise, nothing is better than balik (fish) and ekmek (bread) at Eminönü, Istanbul harbor.

Mix sour cabbage and peperoni together with the fried fish and the dinner is complete.

Or cross the Galata bridge and buy fresh fish (watch how red the gills are) at the market …

Grilled meat on the road is a delicious alternative.

For dessert, a bag of kastane (chestnuts)

and if space still available, top it up with süt misir (sweet corn) !

All pictures shot hand-held in the darkness with the amazing Nikon 50 mm f/1.4 mounted on my Nikon D800. Click to magnify.
