Baking With Spirit: The November Challenge

By Cakeoftheweek @cakeoftheweek

Did everyone have a fun Halloween? I spent mine watching the original Evil Dead, and though blood and gore (not to mention dodgy pre-CGI special effects) don't really scare me I can see why it has become so well known. I also carved a pumpkin in the least imaginative way possible:
Anyway, I digress. Today is the start of a new month, and that means it's time for a new Baking With Spirit challenge!
Though we've not really seen much cold yet and have been thoroughly eased into the autumnal weather, in my experience November is where things kick off and the winter coats come out from hibernation. In preparation for this, I suggest we bake with a spirit which has been used throughout its history for warming you from the insides (not to mention 'curing' all sorts of ailments): whisky.
There are plenty of recipes out there that involve whisky, but my favourites include Greek Yoghurt & Honey Cake from Sharky Oven Gloves (I have made this before and it tastes really good), Campfire Cocktail S'Mores Bars from Bake It With Booze and Bourbon Banana Pudding Cheesecake from The Candid Appetite. Go crazy!
Want to enter? Just follow the rules below (or see a full set here):
  1. Bake or cook something food-related containing whisky.
  2. Write a post about it on your blog and link back to Cake Of The Week, mentioning Baking With Spirit.
  3. Email the link to me at cakeoftheweek@hotmail.co.uk and include your name, your blog and the photo you want me to use in the round-up. If you tweet me @CakeOfTheWeek and/or use #bakingwithspirit I will endeavour to retweet!
  4. The deadline is midnight on the 28th of the month.
To see what other challenges are about this month, make sure you check out The Food Blog Diary, which is run by a group of bloggers to help everyone keep track of what to enter and when by.
