Baking With Spirit: The February Challenge

By Cakeoftheweek @cakeoftheweek
So it's February... Where is all the cold weather, guys? The weatherman has just one more month to make winter an event that accurately corresponds to the months it has been assigned to in the calendar. I want snow. I want it to be so chilly I need to wear my hat. I want frosty mornings!
I digress. I'm actually not here to talk about the weather; I'm here to announce this month's Baking With Spirit challenge. Last month's frugal challenge saw a good number of entries (which were also pretty tasty looking), so let's try and keep it up this month!
This month I'm asking you to bake with a light coloured spirit. By light I mean colourless, maybe light yellow. Example spirits include gin, white rum, vodka, silver tequila or schnapps. Obviously I'm flexible on your definition of a light spirit, but if you try and submit something like whisky or dark rum I won't accept it because those are clearly not light spirits. If you are confused, the Drinkaware Unit Calculator handily categorises spirits so you can see which ones are officially light coloured.
Have fun!
Here are the rules (find a comprehensive list here):
  1. Make something food-related containing a light coloured spirit.
  2. Write a post about it on your blog, link back to Cake Of The Week and mention Baking With Spirit.
  3. Email the link to me at cakeoftheweek@hotmail.co.uk and include your name, your blog and the photo you want me to use in the round-up. If you tweet me @CakeOfTheWeek and/or use #bakingwithspirit I will endeavour to retweet!
  4. The deadline is midnight on the 28th.
