Baking With Spirit: The April Challenge

By Cakeoftheweek @cakeoftheweek
Shockingly, today we are supposed to be entering the second month of Spring. For readers who are not in the UK, suffice to say that it has been an unseasonably cold March, with ridiculous amounts of snow for the time of year. At the start of March I saw some daffodil shoots coming through in the park, but two weeks later the bitter cold had caused them to die. I've been abroad for the past two and a half weeks so can't be 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain that there won't have been any other spring flowers coming through during March due to the unseasonable cold.
In light of this lovely weather, I think it's time we step away from the wintry comforts, appropriate as they may feel, and head toward lighter, more spring-like dishes. In this manner we might entice the weather to change for us. It's worth a try, at least!
Therefore, I have decided that this month's alcohol of choice is raspberry liqueur, aka creme de framboise. I know that raspberries aren't in season now, but fruit always reminds me of warmer seasons so let's try it and see if the weather obliges our efforts.
Below is a brief account of the rules, but you can find a fuller version here.
