Back to school is here! Most children I know are either nervous or excited for back to school. Not Adrian, all I get from him are dirty looks and complaining. He is just one of those kids that doesn't really enjoy going to school. The other two kids have asked me to go back to school shopping as soon as the back to school displays were up in stores. Every child is different so I knew that in order to get Adrian ready for fourth grade, I would have to take him to one of his favorite stores, Dick's Sporting Goods®, for his back to school shopping! Adrian definitely does back to school in his own way, just check out this year's first day of school picture:

A couple days before school started, I asked him what his preferences were for school this year and he was ready. He wanted the following:-Polo shirts that are soft and cool-Nike sneakers-UnderArmour backpack-Monster pencil bag
It is just easier for me to get my kids exactly what they want for back to school. It makes the transition from summer break to busy school days much easier. When Adrian asked me for soft, cool polo shirts, I knew exactly what he was asking for: moisture-wick polos. Moisture wick shirts is all he wears and he wanted his school uniform to be the same. Luckily, in our school, as long as it's a red or navy polo and khaki bottoms, we can purchase the uniforms from where ever we like! We went our to Dick's Sporting Goods® one day after swim practice and found the moisture-wick polos, Nike 5.0 sneakers and UnderArmour backpack. It was almost one-stop shopping!!
He picked this super cool camo UnderArmour backpack that is way too big for him but was exactly what he wanted. I also was able to find the monster pencil bag and the teacher-requested supplies (of course, at another store) the same day!! The night before the first day of school, I made sure all his things were packed and uniforms ironed and ready to go!

Here's my big 4th grader ready to go!! He wasn't too happy that it was already the first day, but at least he was thrilled with all his cool new stuff!!

I also purchased some other clothes for him at Dick's. Like I mentioned before, this boy lives in athletic apparel and I took major advantage of all the back to school sales at Dick's!! Our back to school shopping date was a major success!
