Back to Pastels

A little time out of figure drawing and oil painting.
After a long weekend spent in New York and Connecticut, I came back with a wealth of photos of cityscapes I was eager to use for drawing and painting studies.
I started to work on the photographs at first and felt like opening the pastel box.Walking off Brooklyn Park, I was attracted by the docks and the smooth blue atmosphere surrounding us.
It led to this pastel, a small study :
