About 2 weeks ago, Lars and I went back to Denmark. Our goal: to experience the festivities of summer solstice. In the beginning, the weather wasn’t very promising; on Saturday there were lots of clouds and even a bit of rain. That didn’t stop us from making excursions. We first went back to a place we had discovered last year. Munkebo is a small town, near Kerteminde Fjord:

Danish fjords and Norwegian fjords have nothing in common. A Danish fjord can be a small inlet of the sea or even a shallow lagoon. The name of Kerteminde Fjord refers to the pretty town that is close to the sea.
Anyway, Lars and I have fond memories of Munkebo. Last year, we saw some of the bonfires of Sankt Hans Aften here. It was the first time that I had witnessed these festivities and it was so exciting. This time, we only had a look at the preparations.
