This fin flash on a Jet Provost caught my eye at the 2007 Aviation Nation airshow,  The Jet Provost is a British jet trainer that was in use with the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1955 to 1993.  A fin flash is commonly part of the national markings of most military aircraft, taking the form of vertical, horizontal or slanted stripes in the same colors as the main insignia and may be referred to as rudder stripes if they appear on the rudder instead of the fin. These UK fin flash colors are also used by Australia and New Zealand. This example belongs to the Western Sky Aviation Warbird Museum in St. George, Utah. Nikon D70 w/28-85mm.
