Here is a very quick,totally unusual but absolutely lip smacking chutney.Yes chutney mace with whole almonds.Have you ever tried making chutney with almonds?It is so flavorful with a unique nutty and earthy taste and texture is completely addictive that you would want to just eat continuously.This is my mom's recipe and when I tasted I was really hooked. Texture is similar to coconut chutney buy way way more tasty.I served it with rava idly. Just try it once and you wont regret :) Badam kothumalli chutney (Almond-cilantro chutney)Star ingredient-Whole almondsTime-20 minutesServes-3Ingredients:10-12 whole almonds1 table spoon gram dal1 table spoon urad dal1/4 teaspoon asafoetida2 green chillies1 dried red chilli1/2 cup cilantro1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds7-8 curry leavesSaltSeasme oilMethod:1.In a kadai,add some oil and add green chilli,red chilli,urad,gram dal and asafoetida. 2.Cool and grind along with whole almonds,cilantro and salt.
3.Temper with mustard and curry leaves.
Notes:1.This chutney yields less.While serving dilute it a bit adding sesame oil2.To increase the quantity you can add roasted dal along with cilantro n almonds while grinding.
