Story: Azrael: Angel of Death starts in a world after the rapture where few humans survive, and no one speaks. Azrael (Weaving) searches the forests to survive until she clashes with a group that wants to sacrifice her. However, she escapes and finds herself chased through the woods by something evil.

As Azrael tries to find safety, she finds herself drawn into a bigger battle and learns more of the threats waiting in the world. However, her determination to return to her lost love drives her to freedom at any cost.

Verdict on Azrael: Angel of Death

Azrael: Angel of Death is an action horror following a lone woman battling against an evil group and creatures in her battle to survive. However, the battle comes at a price, as humanity is already struggling to survive.

This movie takes us to a world where the rapture happened, and the survivors are left to fend for themselves. It throws in creatures desperate to survive, rituals and religious cults. However, the lack of talking sometimes seems to hold things back, as it relies on title cards to explain moments. Away from that, we get a kick-ass leading performance from Samara Weaving, in what plays out more like a revenge thriller than you would have expected. There are some brutal fight sequences and blood splattered everywhere.

Final Thoughts Azrael: Angel of Death is a big splattering of action chaos.
