Ava Gardner in London- Tour Her Apartment

By Fashion Addicted Foodies @fashionfoodi

Ava Gardner was of course one of Hollywood’s biggest and most glamorous stars. She was constant fodder for the tabloids with her famous lovers (Frank Sinatra) and her femme fatale looks made her a fashion icon at the time. She rose from very humble beginnings (she was a daughter of tobacco farmers in Nouth Carolina) to an international movie star. In 1968 Ava Gardner made a permanent move to London and bought a classic London townhouse in Knightsbridge. She lived at the property until her death in 1990 at the age of 67. Now that very same property has come on the rental market- for a whopping £500,000 per year. I know you may gasp at the six figure sum, but for London’s Knightsbridge that is the norm. Besides if you would like to purchase a property live the one Ava Gardner lived in, it would cost you millions.

Now kitted out like a boutique hotel, the apartment is all about the windows to me… letting in loads and loads of natural light. And the views aren’t bad for central London standards either! The window seats at the breakfast nook are to die for. The open plan kitchen is modern and state of the art and the bedrooms have very luxurious interiors. And the location…. Harrod’s department store is just a stone’s throw away….
