Autumn Wedding at Athelhampton House

Annie & Sam’s Autumn wedding at Athelhampton House

How do you keep things fresh, when you have worked at a great venue for a number of years?

It’s easy to replicate certain pictures and keep within your own comfort zone.  But surely, this would show.  It would be self evident, letting myself down as well as my clients.

So, lets approach things from a new perspective!  It’s autumn, gardens change, sunlight changes – I’ve changed since my last wedding at Athelhampton House.

Athelhampton House Wedding

Annie & Sam’s Wedding was my first wedding at the venue shooting with the Fuji XT-1’s.  It was high time to see what new dimension they bring to the creative mix.

Being a relatively small wedding, we were lucky to have more time to devote to some relaxed portraits around the grounds.  Avoiding as far as possible clichéd locations, we were looking for something new and fresh.

Low perspectives won through, shooting through ground covering cyclamen’s, reflections in pools and finding new walk ways away from the house!

An ultra wide angle new lens added new perspectives to capturing their ceremony.  Being able to reflect the true splendour of the Great Hall, the hanging tapestries and the wedding party.

The day was a joy and creatively refreshing.  A familiar venue, a great couple and new artistic opportunities.

Congratulations Annie & Sam.  Thanks for having me along to capture the day for you.  I hope you enjoy this brief preview of some of my favourites.
