The month of September brought with it a welcome chill, brisk to the bones after an August that was heavy with heat. It painted a promise of fresh starts and new notebooks for some, signatures-on-dotted-lines for I, afternoons spilling into evenings of rest and retreat. It was filled with spontaneous date mornings that led all the way to the night, ear-to-ear grins and lazy blissful hours spent hand-in-hand. Sunday mornings cosy in bed with a book in one hand and my love resting in the crook of my arm. A coffee precariously perched amidst the duvet, fluffier than ever before. Stolen kisses and shy glances up at my love over simple dates of pizza and drinks to my fancy. Non-stop chatter of plans and missions and wishes and dreams for the Future. Leaves turned red in the blink of an eye and then — autumn was here.
