Autumn Curb Appeal: Why I Love October

By Simone Design Blog @HomeSpire

I love homes with beautiful gardens. A well-dressed garden inspires me to imagine what the interior of the house is like, wondering if it is as creative and colorful as the home’s front yard. A garden is the first impression a visitor sees of your home. In the fall months, when the grass is not as green as in the spring/summer seasons, you can still add color and depth to your home with plants and shrubs. Chrysanthemums, also known as “mums” are the most favored autumn annuals. They can instantly improve your home’s curb appeal because they’re available in so many delightful colors. When fully blossomed, their flowers will draw “oohs” and “ahhs” from your family, guests, and neighbors.

Besides planting them in the ground, you can add these colorful flowers to a planter’s urn or whatever container you like.

Our local nursery has started to receive their shipment of these beauties and I’m so looking forward to seeing my garden dressed up with them for the autumn season.

How about you? Have you started your fall plantings yet?
