5 things to do today if partying at Aura, Mayfair
1. Arrive early to Aura to avoid the queue outside. You should be on a guest list so make sure you sign up to be on one. Try Velvet – PR nightclub promotors and guest list provider to sign up. This company promotes many top end London clubs.
2. Choose a table but be prepared to move if someone else comes. They can be booked with a minimum spend of £500 Aura has plenty of tables – on the night I went (Tattinger Champagne end of summer party) all tables had upmarket champagne buckets resting on them with ice scoops.
3. Be careful at the bar. The bar is well stocked but quite pricey. Decide on how much you are going to spend before hand. Have a look at the interactive bar menu here before you travel to Aura. There is also service charged added.
4. Dance til the early hours to the best of House and R&B music. Excellent DJ with a Macbook. The dance floor gets healthy busy. Full of young people dressed very smartly and trying to impress. This is a safe venue with very few drunk people – in fact not a huge number of people were drinking.
5. Enjoy the range of aftershaves and perfumes in the toilets. I couldn’t believe the choice here. Of course there is an expected tip.
Aura is a happening celebrity haunt just down from the Ritz hotel. Don’t go for a cheap night but go for a dance filled night. If you like the color purple you are in for a treat as the club is awash with a purple haze. Beams of light cut through the light artificial smoke. If I was a cynic then it felt a bit like Laser quest with Champagne.
