Attempting To Solve A Sticky Problem

Back in February I blogged about a new initiative in Kensington that attempted to address the sticky problem of discarded gum…

Nice try.
Passing by last Thursday I found this…
Oops. No bin. Pinched? Dinged off by a passing car?
What I like about the picture is that, despite the absence of the bin, gum-chewing Kensingtonites seem to have grown accustomed to using the facility and are still offering up their used gum for recycling in the usual place…
Or is it just that people think that the sign itself is the place to stick unused gum and that it will be harvested by a man with a chisel at the end of the day?
