Aston Villas End-up in Bottom Three

Aston Villas started their important game against Liverpool on a very promising note. They took an early lead against opponents in 1st half of the game and maintained it till the break. Christian Benteke gave his team an early advantage by scoring a superb goal in 30th minute into the game. He narrowly missed many other chances.

Villas made some very classic attempts to go up in the game but majority of the moves were successfully blocked by Liverpool. Villas got an early chance when Gabriel Agbonlahor nearly scored in 17th minute into the game but he ended up tamely in front of Goalkeeper Pepe Reina. However, he made up for the missed effort by assisting Christian Benteke on a long pass from Ashley Westwood. He received the ball and passed it on to Benteke who ripped it into the nets.

Villas went into the break 1-0 up and riding high on sentiments. However, they started off second half poorly as they conceded equalizer only three minutes into 2nd half. Coutinho provided the setup with an excellently hit pass to Jordan Henderson. Henderson took advantage of Villain’s poor defense and played it over the keeper into the nets to make it 1-1.

The eventual winning goal came from Nathan Baker who dragged down Luis Suarez in the penalty zone in the 59th minute. Gerrard stepped up and translated a beautiful penalty into a superb goal tha.t proved decider

Aston Villa tried hard to level the score and came very close of doing this in 66th minute of the game when Benteke came close to netting the ball again. Gerrard brilliantly cleared the header by Benteke.
